Oswin Project

In 2018, we awarded a grant of £20,000 towards the purchase of kitchen and bakery equipment for a training café at HMP Northumberland.

Organisation

Oswin Project aims to rehabilitate and create second changes for offenders through training, support and employment in order to break the cycle of re-offending. They work with prisons to select participants in the final stages of their sentence or who are ROTL (Released on Temporary Licence).

HMP Northumberland Café project

Oswin Project is working with HMP Northumberland to develop a café for staff and visitors. Premises have been provided by HMP Northumberland but they require refurbishment and fitting out. Participants will gain work experience and training in customer service and at the on-site bakery, and the charity builds partnerships with local businesses to support participants to find work placements and employment after their release. A grant of £20,000 was awarded to the total project cost of £70,000.
